This shop has been in business for over 30 years and is now in the hands of the third generation. They originally started out as a pushcart vendor, much like the beef offal carts you still see everywhere in Guangzhou today. However, their secret recipe is truly unique. Originally a traditional snack of the Hui people, it has a long history and was already popular during the Ming Dynasty. Today, Guangzhou is considered the epicenter of beef offal, with vendors selling it everywhere! The shop itself is a bit shabby, with ordinary-looking folding tables and plastic chairs at the entrance. To the left of the entrance is the cashier, where a middle-aged man who appears to be the owner sits and takes your receipt. To the right is the kitchen, stocked with a variety of seasonings. The beef and mutton offal soup is a reasonable 12 yuan (RMB). Unlike my usual beef and mutton offal soup, it's generously seasoned with chives, resulting in a rich and fragrant broth with a strong peppery flavor that perfectly balances the slight fishy flavor of offal. The radish is incredibly flavorful and tender. Excellent! This beef and mutton offal has a soft and smooth texture with a little chewiness. After drinking the soup, you will feel warm all over. If you eat it in winter, it will definitely taste better because the summer in Guangzhou is too hot.

If you love ngau chap, this is the ultimate. The piece de resistance is the tendon sheath, expensive but not much of this in a cow. So go early, after 11.00 to avoid disappointment.
